PLAY THE VIOLIN

Violin lesson will be one of the most exciting educational learning added by World Music Academy to the school program. This is to give opportunity for the student to discover and develop their talent. Provide right training to enhance their musicality and performing skills.

Music achievement requires time and effort. It also requires determination, dedication and patience. Practice doesn’t necessarily make perfect but, PRACTICE MAKES BETTER.

Violin lesson is limited. New concepts, techniques and music learning during the lesson need daily personal practice or follow-up at home in order to be developed.

Violin do come in several sizes, it depends on the length of one’s arm. You can measure the size by placing the violin on your shoulder just as you would play it and reaching with your fingers around the scroll. If your fingers extend all the way around the scroll and touch the peg box (the portion just below the scroll into which peg fits), that is the size playable for you.

Before playing the bow should be rubbed with rosin. Keep rosin in your left hand and rub the bow against it in the same way you play. As you play, rosin will collect on the top of the violin. Clean this off gently with a soft cloth regularly to keep the violin and the strings clean. Your bow should move perpendicular to the strings. The faster you move the bow, the richer the sound coming from the string will be. Your bow should move between the fingerboard and the bridge. When closer to the bridge, it will be louder. Play closer to the fingerboard to play more quietly.

The violin is tuned (from low to high) G - D - A - E. The A string is always tune first at 440hertz.
